The world of gaming as we all actually know has changed dramatically, it wasn't that long ago when you had to go to arcades to play video games,even then games weren't up to scratch. However, gaming has been reached into our homes and are used by over 1 BILLION people from all over the world!!
The world of gaming as we all actually know has changed dramatically, it wasn't that long ago when you had to go to arcades to play video games,even then games weren't up to scratch. However, gaming has been reached into our homes and are used by over 1 BILLION people from all over the world!!
Gaming has transformed, it's grown to create a greater audience, a very large market & way more diverse formats and with so much growth in video games, you would expect every video game player to be isolated and to be alienated from family and friends, but you are wrong.. Over 1 Billion people have at least 3 consoles in their household and gaming technology is more social than ever, it now contains video and voice chat & even Internet Explorer 8/9. Gaming developers in the 70's/80's always focused on single player games and consoles and they weren't really a social item, Atari consoles were single player devices and people felt anti-social as they couldn't play against anyone of their friends, but technology in the 00's has changed since then, the gaming industry allows you to connect via wireless networks to play with people all over the world E.G America/New Zealand etc etc.
Most consoles in our days have inside of them a 64bit video card which allows images appear on your screen, they give the video game great graphics which now look better in High Definition. In the 1980's they used an 8 bit video card which was very pixelated and was basically made into blocks (see picture above for comparison). Microsoft Xbox 360 has the best graphics for a computer system, it is in 1080p HD which gives you great graphics and game play, but it can be played on a standard definition television.
Microsoft have recently announced that they will be releasing a new console in 2013 called 'Xbox 720'. It will have built in Wi-Fi and Kinect 2.0 which is allows you to video chat and play dance games (also more advanced). More consoles will be announced at the beginning of 2013 and it will be a new era for gaming (8th Generation), everything will be more advanced and easier to use but with fantastic game play.
